“Resources in the Community, Friends Connect Foundation” Facebook Group Disclaimer Statement and Terms of Use
Welcome to the Resources in the Community, Friends Connect Foundation Facebook Group. The purpose of this group is to provide a safe online space where neuro-typical individuals, special needs individuals and their families and caregivers can connect with and support one another. Friends Connect Foundation advertising and third party advertising may be relayed by Friends Connect Foundation (NP) ONLY, not members. Friends Connect Foundation (NP) may not support or validate any information in the advertisement or comments made in the discussion of the advertisement within the forum.
This group is set up as a Facebook “closed” and “visible” group, which means anyone can find the group and see who runs it but only members can see who’s in it and what they post. Non-members cannot join without permission and cannot see what group members post.
Before a request to join is approved, you will be sent a few questions which help us ensure that we are creating a supportive environment that best meets the needs of our community.
Friends Connect Foundation (NP) is not responsible for any of the information which is posted in the Resources in the Community, Friends Connect Foundation Facebook group. We have a minimum age requirement of 18 years for joining our Facebook group.

Personal Health Information: No one may use or disclose any member/patient identifiable information (except their own) of any kind on any social media without the expressed written permission of the member/patient. Even if an individual is not identified by name within the information you wish to use or disclose, if there is a reasonable basis to believe that the person could still be identified from that information, then its use or disclosure could constitute a violation of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Content that includes personal health information that is not your own, cannot be posted to this group. This Facebook group is an online communication forum for Friends Connect Foundation staff, volunteers, participants and families only. Friends Connect Foundation (NP) will maintain its Facebook group in accordance with Facebook’s terms of use and rules.
Proprietary Information: Facebook Group Members may not disclose any confidential or proprietary information of or about Friends Connect Foundation, its affiliates, staff, volunteers, participants, sponsors, vendors, or suppliers, including but not limited to business and financial information, represent that they are communicating the views of Friends Connect Foundation (NP), or do anything that might reasonably create the impression that they are communicating on behalf of or as a representative of Friends Connect Foundation (NP).
Removal of Content: Friends Connect Foundation (NP) reserves the right to remove any posted message at its sole discretion for any reason we feel fit. This reservation of right to delete messages does not mean that Friends Connect Foundation (NP) takes any responsibility for the information contained within the Forum, nor for content in private messages exchanged between members.
