In our area, there are limited opportunities for teenagers with special needs to make friends with local peers, build confidence through new activities and increase their sense of belonging in the community. Beyond our enjoyable and meaningful social programs, Friends Connect Foundation creates unforgettable experiences for special needs participants, their families and their volunteer buddies. We hear stories after almost every event about how a participant has built confidence to try new things, is more open to engaging with others and how their parents see new opportunities for their children that they did not consider possible before. Our volunteers often share that they continue to build friendships with individuals with special needs, volunteer with other organizations serving the special needs community and learn to see people with special needs as people first.
Your donation helps make this possible. Your commitment to supporting teenagers with special needs in our community is appreciated by our staff, volunteers, families and, most importantly, by the kids who look forward to making new friends at Friends Connect’s social programs each week. We thank you for your generosity.
